Aria Alyse-Noire Johnson is a native of Houston and proud alumna of the second largest Historically Black College & University in the nation, Texas Southern University, where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in biology and chemistry. During her undergraduate tenure, she was fortunate to be elected as leadership to several organizations and programs that allowed her to serve her campus and community, while also developing skills in mentoring, leadership, outreach, and organizational communication. Upon graduation, she knew youth development was not only her passion, but her purpose. Aria previously served as an outreach coordinator with the Houston Texans YMCA program located within the Cuney Homes Public Housing in 3rd ward. Aria comes to Genesys Works from the Student Academic Support Services department at TSU, where she worked as an academic coach to contingently admitted incoming freshman. Aria is an innovative and motivated individual who is an advocate for quality and access focused on public education in under-sourced communities. She is very excited to be a part of Genesys and looks forward to contributing to the organizations growth.
