Nicole serves as a member of the Genesys Works National Development team, and is passionate about making sure students have access to the resources and skills necessary to their ongoing success–from career-based experiences and mentorship supports, to opportunities to explore their own passions in music, art and beyond.
Originally from a small farming community, she studied English and journalism at Simpson College, a small liberal arts school in Iowa before being selected for Americorps’ Teach for America’s Kansas City charter corps. Terrizzi taught second grade and middle school at CA Franklin Elementary while earning her Masters in Secondary Education from the University of Missouri St. Louis.
She went on to teach middle school English and history in Oakland, CA, before moving into educational technology and nonprofit, working as a proposal and grant writer. Most recently she worked at College Track for 3.5 years, where she played a significant role in growing the organization budget from $18M to $26M. At Genesys Works, she is thrilled to bring almost a decade of fundraising experience and a track record of raising almost $8M to date to ensure all students have access to the opportunities they deserve.
