Genesys Works Twin Cities has officially kicked off a new college and career success initiative, known as the Talent Development Pipeline (TDP). Designed to connect young professionals with long-term career success, the initiative started in Spring 2018 for graduating high school seniors pursuing degrees in technology and business. For those who apply to the program and are accepted, this group of talented and driven young professionals will receive enhanced experiences and support from Genesys Works throughout college, preparing them for competitive careers within their field of choice. The first TDP class includes 46 young professionals who interned at 23 corporate partners from across the Twin Cities and will be attending 14 different colleges this fall, including the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities, St. Olaf College, and Augsburg University.

Members of the TDP initiative will have access to:

  • Monthly professional development events hosted by corporate partners;
  • Expanded networks of corporate partner talent recruiters and hiring professionals;
  • First access to college internship opportunities through Genesys Works and corporate partners; and
  • Personalized academic advising, career coaching, and resume development.

On June 19, Target hosted our first ever professional development event for TDP members. During the first portion event, members were provided with an overview of the program for the next four years and heard from five Genesys Works alumni who now work at Target, Medtronic, Boom Lab, and Optum. After a brief networking opportunity, representatives from Target shared insight on their own tech career experiences and opportunities for those in the technology industry.

TDP members don’t have to wait long for their next professional development event. In July, members will visit Accenture to hear about new technology trends and how this could impact their career.
