The Genesys Works Family is mourning the loss of longtime Board Member Doug Butler. Doug passed away February 21, 2021, after a private battle with cancer with his family by his side.  

Doug was a fierce advocate for Genesys Works’ students. He established key policy such as student representation on our national board, and always made a point to build relationships with students and staff as a mentor, partner, and friend. Doug served on the national board for six years, most recently as Board Chair, providing sound leadership as we evolved our organizational structure to deepen the impact of our work.  

The Genesys Works family is grateful for his exceptional leadership, guidance, wisdom and friendship. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him and benefitted from the immense and impactful work he achieved during his time as a board member. Information about Doug’s arrangements can be found here.
