The cycle of poverty is not easily broken. I’ve seen this firsthand over my three-decade career with organizations that address the consequences of poverty, issues like access to food or decent shelter.

Commentary: Experiences help students get ready for the future

Burnsville High School in St. Paul is developing pathways that have students thinking and preparing for possible careers and figuring out what education, experiences and/or training they’ll need. Part of developing those pathways stems from Burnsville’s partnership with Genesys Works, which allows students to get paid work experience at major corporations.
