44 North Foundation Sees Impact Firsthand at Genesys Works Twin Cities

June 26, 2026

For the 44 North Foundation, investing in young people means investing in stronger communities. As a family-led philanthropic organization committed to expanding opportunities through education and workforce development, the foundation seeks partners that create meaningful, lasting impact. That commitment is what drew 44 North Foundation to Genesys Works Twin Cities.

The foundation first connected with Genesys Works Twin Cities in 2024 and has supported the program since, helping expand access to career readiness training for students across the Twin Cities. For 44 North Foundation, the partnership reflects its broader commitment to equipping young people with the skills, experiences, and confidence needed to succeed in their future careers.

“Our first impression of Genesys Works was how practical the organization is,” said Becca Hanousek, Executive Director of the 44 North Foundation. “They get exposure to a professional environment, doing real work and getting hands-on training before they’ve even finished high school. These are experiences most people aren’t exposed to until college or later.”

That impression became stronger when Hanousek and her team visited the Genesys Works Twin Cities Summer Training program in 2025. As they observed students preparing for their future, they witnessed something special in action: the program’s initiative to develop both technical training and personal growth.

“Some students were taking exams for their Microsoft certifications, while others were in a seminar focused on “purpose.” Hanousek recalled. “We loved how engaged the students were. It was clear this program was having a real impact.”

What stood out the most to Hanousek was the balance between career readiness and self-discovery. Students were building important technical skills while also reflecting on their personal goals, strengths, and sense of purpose.  Hanousek noted that the energy in the room aligned perfectly with the 44 North Foundation’s mission.

For the 44 North Foundation, the visit provided a firsthand insight into the impact of the program on its students. By combining technical training with guided self-discovery, the program equips students with the resources they need to achieve success beyond the program.

“44 North Foundation is proud to support Genesys Works, and we’d encourage others to do the same.” Hanousek says. “The program opens doors for students and puts them on a path toward a future they’re capable of. The impact of Genesys Works is measurable and clear!”
