Our Mission

Our mission is to provide pathways to career success for high school students in underserved communities through skills training, meaningful work experiences, and impactful relationships.

We envision a future where all young adults are equipped and empowered with the knowledge and skills required to achieve career success, upward mobility, and a lifetime of economic self-sufficiency.

Genesys Works creates career pathways and opportunities for youth from underserved communities while simultaneously helping employers fill critical talent gaps within their companies.

We do this by providing skills training, counseling and coaching, and paid internships for high school seniors who currently reside in underserved communities and lack access to the resources needed to achieve sustained economic mobility.

Our Model

We achieve our mission through a proven core program model that includes:

Skills Training

Students start their journey by completing eight weeks of rigorous business technology training, gaining essential skills in the areas of information technology, business operations and professional development.

Meaningful Internships

Once students successfully complete their skills training course, they are matched to a paid, year-long internship at a partner company site. Our “earn and learn” approach offers twenty-hour work-weeks while in school, further developing and refining student skills and while providing highly valued services to their host company.

College & Career Coaching

While students are working at their internship, they are also receiving more than sixty hours of guidance, counseling and planning relative to their future career path. Examples of supports in this area include college selection and applications, certification training and placement, and financial aid assistance.

Alumni Support

When students join Genesys Works, they also gain access to a community of support from other Genesys Works alumni. As subject matter experts with relatable experiences, our robust alumni network provides students invaluable guidance and support as they navigate their future career paths. Alumni are there to support students all along the way as they navigate academic, social, and financial obstacles that too often serve as a barrier to sustained career success.

Genesys Works is a proven model that not only greatly impacts students, but also has a profound effect on their families, communities, companies, and society at large.
