Growing up in the Bronx, Angel Santos joined Genesys Works New York City (GWNYC) as a student at the Laboratory School of Finance and Technology. Through internships at Simpson Thacher and Kirkland & Ellis, he gained hands-on experience and built the technical and professional skills that would shape his career.
After graduating from Stony Brook University with degrees in Business Management and Psychology (June 2026), Angel applied for a full-time Accounts Receivable position at Fried Frank, a law firm and a GWNYC founding corporate partner.
As it happened, Fried Frank’s talent lead knew GWNYC well, because a former GW intern was hired into a full-time role the previous year. The Genesys Works credential and reputationĀ helped him stand out and secure an interview. Once in the room, Angel drew on the confidence he developed and professional experiences he gained to successfully navigate the interview process and earn the role.
Today, Angel works alongside fellow GWNYC alum Lubna Sheri at Fried Frank, a testament to the firm’s longstanding commitment to developing young talent. Reflecting on his journey, Angel credits Genesys Works with not only opening doors, but preparing him to walk through them.
His advice to current students is: keep learning, keep growing, and trust the process. “Just like a seed needs water and sunlight before it becomes a plant, the skills you’re building today will eventually blossom in ways you never imagined.”
