The Alumni Catch-Up: From Mission to Impact

February 8, 2022

Emmanuel Williamson
Genesys Works Chicago Alum 2016

Where are you in your career journey?
While I am just beginning my professional career journey, I am extremely excited about my future. I currently work as an Investment Banking Analyst at Mesirow, an independent financial services firm here in Chicago.

Where do you see yourself professionally in three to five years?
In the next three to five years, I anticipate being promoted to Investment Associate and earning an MBA. I also hope to launch two non-profits. One will focus on ending homelessness in large cities. The other, a financial literacy program, will be available to all age groups in underserved communities.

What is your ultimate career goal?
My ultimate career goal is to inspire more Black and Brown young adults to enter revenue driven industries, like investment banking, real-estate or private equity, that lead to higher wages and sustained economic mobility. In 20 years, I want to see an increase in diversity in leadership roles. There is so much value in hiring diverse candidates. It’s a new era in corporate America, and I want to be a small part of a big change.

Thanks for catching up, Emmanuel!
