In June, we achieved another milestone and celebrated the 10th annual Think IT Charity Golf Invitational organized by our long-time partner, York Solutions! All proceeds raised through this event advance the mission of Genesys Works to provide pathways to career success for high school students in underserved communities through skills training, meaningful work experiences, and impactful relationships. Together, we envision a future where all young adults are equipped and empowered with the knowledge and skills required to achieve career success, upward mobility, and a lifetime of economic self-sufficiency.
Not surprising at all, this year’s event was a big success! We had great weather, connected with golfers and other supporters, and had a robust lineup of speakers to top off the impactful day. Our keynote speaker and Genesys Works Class of 2019 Alum, Pazi Lee, shared more about her incredible career journey, which began during her participation in Genesys Works’ Summer Training program. Pazi gained professional, business, and technical skills that she still utilizes to this day. She interned at Data Recognition Corporation (DRC) during her senior year of high school, then Allina Health, and currently at CHS. While interning at DRC, Pazi discovered her interest and now passion for project management, continuous learning, and collaborative teamwork.
During her remarks, Pazi thanked the audience and said, “Your partnership, generosity and support of Genesys Works Twin Cities helps students like me thrive and envision a brighter future.” We could not agree more! Thanks to the generosity of local companies, C-Suite level executives, and other IT professionals, the event raised over $120,000! Did you know over $1 million has been raised for Genesys Works through the annual golf event since 2014? Truly remarkable. We are grateful for the generosity and leadership of Richard Walker, CEO of York Solutions and current Genesys Works Twin Cities Board of Directors, and the fantastic team at York Solutions who plans this event year after year.
