Genesys Works is pleased to welcome Tim Roessler to the organization as the Director of Outreach and Partnerships. Roessler brings decades of Information Technology experience to his new position, with leadership roles in innovative companies such as Cabot Microelectronics Corporation, Genesys, Edify and Walgreens. He holds a Master in Computer Science from Virginia Tech and has a Six Sigma Green Belt certification.

While Roessler brings extensive corporate experience, he’s no stranger to the nonprofit world. He serves as an Advisory Board member for ITKAN, a member-driven professional organization that supports professionals with disabilities within the technology field.

The opportunity to empower students with the knowledge and skills required to achieve career success aligns so well to this passion.”

A key pillar of the Genesys Works model is the meaningful workforce experience offered to underserved high school youths who are trained in the fields of IT and accounting. This is supported by an extensive network of corporate clients, and Roessler is responsible for strengthening and growing this network.

Genesys Works operates at the intersection of education and workforce development. The organization believes that earning a college degree is just as important as developing workforce-ready skills, and that low-income students are more likely to enroll and persist in college if they’ve experienced the type of job that a degree can lead to.

“I am eager to develop corporate partnerships which create meaningful internships and relationships that will greatly benefit the lives of our students, our partnering companies, and all of Chicago,” shares Roessler on the impact of his new role.

96% of Genesys Works Young Professionals go on to enroll in college after experiencing professional success while still in high school. The goal is to move more students out of poverty and into professional careers, creating a more productive and diverse workforce in the process.

“We’re very excited to have Tim join the team,” says Executive Director Jim Morgan. “He will play a vital role in expanding our internship program and offering more opportunities to low-income students in Chicago.”
