New York City-based executive to champion and play a pivotal role in growing Genesys Works’ impact

NEW YORK, NY (Jan. 15, 2025) — Genesys Works NYC (GWNYC) welcomes a new member to its board of advisors: Eugene Chiulli, Managing Director, Chief Financial Officer of Nomura Holding America. Chiulli will play a pivotal role in expanding the organization’s impact.

We are thrilled to have his expertise and leadership on the board to pave pathways to career success for more young professionals in New York City,” expresses Mike Gross, Executive Director of Genesys Works NYC.

Eugene Chiulli leads and motivates a team of highly trained individuals to maximize resource efficiency, advance a dependable control structure and enhance industry & regulatory relationships at Nomura. Eugene has extensive financial services industry experience, spending over 25 years covering products in the Retail Banking, Asset Management, Wealth Management and Capital Markets sectors. Eugene spent eight years at RBC US in various capacities, including the CFO of RBC Capital Markets LLC and the RBC Asset Manager “GAM.” Prior to RBC, he worked at JP Morgan and Bear Stearns. Eugene graduated from Fordham University with a BS in Accounting and became a Certified Public Accountant during his six-year tenure at Deloitte. He is also an active member of SIFMA and former Treasurer of the Institute of International Bankers.

“The Genesys Works mission is personal to me, and I am honored to help champion our partnership at Nomura,” said Chiulli. “I am eager to help drive growth for this organization that prepares critical future talent starting in high school.”

Since 2019, Genesys Works has provided pathways to career success and economic mobility for hundreds of high school students across New York City. The national nonprofit launched in 2002 in Houston. Genesys Works young professionals complete rigorous skills training in professional and technical skills, receive professional coaching and mentoring, and are placed in paid internships with top employers, including Nomura. One hundred percent of GWNYC interns identify as students of color and over 85% are first generation college students and/or qualify for free or reduced lunch.

To date, more than 20 companies in NYC have partnered with Genesys Works to create over 200 internship opportunities, expand the talent pool, and strengthen communities. Nationally, 92% of students who complete Genesys Works internships enroll in college, compared to 52% of their peers, and alumni seven years out of the program earn a median income of $60,000 a year.
