April was Volunteer Appreciation Month, and KPMG, with its unique and significant role, has been an excellent partner of Genesys Works in recent years. Their involvement during Career and College Connection (CCC) nights, where KPMG staff share their professional journeys and offer insight into the career of accounting, is a testament to their special place in our community. Their book donations and meal sponsorships have been a great help to our program, further solidifying their unique role.
Genesys Works opened up the opportunity to interview students with our volunteers for the first time, and KPMG stepped up!
This spring, we ambitiously set goals to interview over 200 ambitious high school juniors who apply to our program in the hopes of making it to our Summer Training. Eden Rooney, Audit Partner, KPMG, is no stranger to the Genesys Works Houston mission and committed her time and talent to helping us meet our interview goals. Eden interviewed the most students, during a very busy tax season, making personal sacrifices to support our cause. Genesys Works gifted her a thank-you goodie box as a token of our appreciation.
We are very thankful for Eden’s care and the KPMG staff’s concern for the young people interviewed. Their time and dedication to our students and program are remarkable, and we look forward to continuing the partnership!
