Vy-Alumni Spotlight

October 18, 2024

When Vy first began her internship in September 2023, she was hesitant and shy, even expressing concerns about commuting on BART into the city. Fast forward to today, Vy completed her internship at SFMTA as a member of the Employee Services Support team and is attending UC Irvine.

While interning, Vy’s primarily responsibilities included data entry (filing and scanning personnel/medical files), managing the receptionist desk and hiring event inbox.  Working with her team helped her become a confident and active participant. One of her greatest contributions was that her input and ideas contributed to her team reaching their hiring goal for the first time in years.   Vy is an example of how a student can evolve when they stretch out of their comfort zone.
