As the end of the school year approaches, our interns are busy preparing for prom, graduation, and their Internship Reflection Celebrations (IRC), formally Intern Reflection Meeting (IRM)! These celebrations are an opportunity for our interns to share their journey in front of their supervisors, coworkers, and peers. Their speeches walk us through how much they have learned and grown during their internship, how this opportunity has impacted them, and their plans for the future.
On May 1st, we were able to celebrate Aracely, our intern at KPMG, and highlight our partnership with them! Aracely is Genesys Works-Houston first-ever intern at KPMG, making this moment extra special. She spoke about the impact this experience has had on her, from improving her time management and communication skills to becoming an Excel master and realizing the importance of being open to new opportunities. Before Genesys Works and KPMG, Aracely thought she wanted to pursue a career as a Pharmacy Technician. However, through this internship, she realized that she enjoys accounting and was very excited to share that she will be pursuing an accounting degree at Houston Community College and the University of Houston after high school.
We are so proud of Aracely and all of our interns presenting at their IRCs, and wish them the very best! We are also very thankful for partners like KPMG, who believe in our students and our mission, and provide the spaces for our interns to have such impactful experiences.
