Houston, TX (January 23, 2019) – Today, Genesys Works National Capital Region announced it has received a $1 million grant from the A. James & Alice B. Clark Foundation to support the organization’s growth in Washington, DC. The three-year investment will support Genesys Works’ efforts to provide pathways to career success for high school students across the region.

The Genesys Works National Capital Region program has been equipping high school students with professional and technical skills training as well as paid, year-long corporate internships since 2016. More than 18 partner organizations, including Accenture, AT&T, Intelsat, and MicroStrategy, provide students with internships that offer real-life work experience in technology and business operations fields.

“Genesys Works is closing the economic and opportunity gaps that currently exist in our region,” said Mioshi Moses, Executive Director of Genesys Works National Capital Region. “Through the Clark Foundation’s support, we are able to help more students realize their dreams of college and career success.”

The A. James & Alice B. Clark Foundation is the family foundation of the late A. James Clark, former head of Clark Construction Group, and his wife, Alice B. Clark. The Foundation helps those who are driven to achieve by connecting their efforts with greater opportunity, focusing its investments in four areas: engineering studies; DC education; the DC community; and veterans support.

“We are committed to supporting programs that help DC students prepare for future academic and professional success,” said Joe Del Guercio, President and CEO of the Clark Foundation. “We are proud to support Genesys Works and are confident in the organization’s ability to effectively increase its impact among students and expand its footprint in DC.”
