Part of what makes Genesys Works special was on full display in our downtown Minneapolis office earlier this month. On November 7th, nearly 60 supervisors from companies across the metro joined Genesys Works staff members for the first-ever Genesys Works Supervisor Forum. This was a unique opportunity for supervisors to offer coaching, instruction and encouragement to each other. Executive Director Karen Marben noted “Supervisors traveled to our office in downtown Minneapolis to hear best practices and learn how they can improve the internship experience – for their young professionals and themselves. We all know that engaged supervisors make the best mentors to our young professionals.”

While attending, supervisors had the chance to hear about best practices from other companies. Additionally, there were cross-company collaborative conversations about specific internship role types such as helpdesk support, deployment, and project management.  Event organizer and Genesys Works Manager of Corporate Partnerships Jade Denson was pleased with the energy and enthusiasm of the group. “Though this is our first forum, but the fact that we have outstanding supervisors has been apparent for a long time. I’m grateful for the chance to convene such talented individuals who are committed to our common mission and working towards becoming even better supervisors!”
