Welcoming Our Senior Vice President of Sales & Development: A Note from David Williams

September 25, 2019

News

Dear Friends and Supporters,

This year has brought many exciting things to Genesys Works. Just a few notable outcomes in 2019 include: our program officially launched in New York City, Chicago launched an alumni skills module, and Houston recently received a six-figure grant for an innovation project. For the students we serve through Genesys Works, the pathways are growing fast and we’re excited for what lies ahead.

I am thrilled to announce another new face to our organization. Michelle Demars recently joined Genesys Works as Senior Vice President of Sales & Development. In her new role, Michelle will focus on developing our national strategic partnerships and diversifying the development portfolio to position the organization on a larger scale.

Michelle graduated from the University of Massachusetts – Boston with a bachelor’s in economics and political philosophy. She quickly moved into roles focused on connecting individuals to opportunity, such as writing paid family leave legislation and connecting domestic violence survivors to pathways of education and economic stability. After 13 years at Year Up, she brings expertise of managing direct solicitations and leading national development teams to Genesys Works. Her expertise will enable the organization to increase earned and contributed revenue, ultimately securing higher levels of scale and impact in years to come.

Michelle will create clarity and systems to maximize opportunity for our organization and more. During this time of transformation, there is no better person to lead sales and fundraising at Genesys Works than Michelle Demars.

We will continue to invest in the highest growth opportunities, while empowering young people brimming with motivation and untapped potential to access life-changing opportunities, now and well into the future. More excitement to come…

With gratitude,

David Williams
President & Chief Executive Officer
